Mamo MAMO
Mamo is a token that has recently become the focal point of a significant security incident on the Base network. An attacker exploited a price manipulation vulnerability involving MAMO on the Moonwell lending protocol, artificially inflating the token's price to borrow approximately $10 million in assets while netting roughly $6 million from the exploit. The incident exposed critical weaknesses in oracle security mechanisms that underpin DeFi platforms.
In response to the attack, Moonwell implemented emergency measures by slashing MAMO's borrow caps to minimal levels, effectively restricting further borrowing activity with the token. The exploit has underscored broader concerns within the DeFi ecosystem about the robustness of price feed protections and the need for more stringent safeguards against manipulation-based attacks on lending platforms.
