Zakura launches open-source toolkit, accelerates Zcash private transactions by 14x

Covered by 2 sources · 2 articles

Zakura has released Zakura Common, an open-source cryptography toolkit designed to accelerate mobile proof generation for Zcash's shielded transactions. The library delivers more than a 14-fold speed improvement, enabling private transaction proofs to complete in under 200 milliseconds. The upgrade does not require a network hard fork, allowing wallet developers to adopt it independently.

The performance gain matters for user experience - mobile wallets handling private transactions have historically faced latency friction. By making zero-knowledge proof generation substantially faster on resource-constrained devices, the toolkit removes a technical barrier to everyday use of Zcash's privacy features.
