Symbiosis recovers 15 BTC after Bitcoin Bridge exploit, offers attacker 20% bounty

Covered by 2 sources · 2 articles

Symbiosis, a cross-chain liquidity protocol, fell victim to an exploit affecting its Bitcoin bridge that resulted in the unauthorized minting of approximately 46.1 billion syBTC tokens. Despite the massive quantity of synthetic Bitcoin created, the attacker managed to realize only around $336,000 in actual proceeds before the protocol halted the attack. Symbiosis subsequently recovered 15 BTC and extended a 20% bounty offer to the attacker, likely as part of a negotiation to return remaining funds and prevent further exploitation.
